Their efforts were outstanding, and staff were impressed with everyone’s efforts.  I would like to say a big thanks to all the Hampton Prep and Hampton staff whose efforts allowed it to run so smoothly. And the result…? Another year and another Sports Day Shield for York House. Congratulations to them. Their celebrations clearly demonstrated how much it meant to them.

This week also brought with it the last cricket fixture of the season (for most boys; more on that in a couple of paragraphs!). It has been great to see the boys progress through the term. They certainly look ready for House Cricket on Monday. Boy should wear their cricket whites and House T shirts to school. The Year 3 and 4 tournaments will run from 9.30am -11.30am and the Year 5 and 6 tournaments from 1.30pm -3.30pm. Please do come and spectate.

Finally, to the U11As. Ably led by Mr Bendelow, they continued their fine season on their tour to Guernsey last weekend. They won their fixtures against Elizabeth College on Friday and took on the Guernsey island U11s on the Saturday in a 30 over game. The highlight was Theo’s 70 runs in a partnership with Arthur, which totalled over a hundred runs. Elizabeth College staff and parents were extremely welcoming and the tour was held in great spirit. This was demonstrated on Sunday when a fun, mixed team, six aside tournament was held, followed by an end of tour barbecue. It was clear solid friendships had been formed between the boys.

On Monday, the U11As will be playing in the semi-final of the Surrey Verney Cup Tournament against Feltonfleet School. We are hosting this game and Mr Mills at the senior school has kindly allowed the game to be held on one of their wickets. Spectators are more than welcome so please do come and watch. The game will start after school at 4:30pm. Good luck to the boys. We hope this is your penultimate fixture.
