It has been very good to see the boys excited to start the rugby season this week. There have been a few nerves, which is to be expected, but all the boys are to be praised for how they have thrown themselves into it (literally in some cases, considering the amount of mud they get covered in).

The end of lockdown has also brought a promising change in guidance from the RFU this week, as they eased restrictions on training and fixtures: more contact in training and the return of adapted contact fixtures. What does this mean for us? In-school rugby fixtures will definitely happen after Christmas and fingers crossed for a return to matches against other schools. We have plenty provisionally planned and in the diary and we are now waiting until other schools have confirmed with us they are as keen for these matches to take place as we are.
