• Pre-Prep Sports Day

It was our younger pupils, from Kindergarten to Year 2, who got to demonstrate their athleticism on Thursday in their Sports Day. All the girls and boys demonstrated their speed in the flat race, agility in the skills race, balance in the egg and spoon and “bounciness” in the sack race! There were lots of smiles, plenty of energy and no shortage of determination in the trickier races. It was very joyful event: a big well done to all of them!

  • Year 6 Cricket

Feltonfleet school have a great reputation for their cricket so a little apprehension amongst the U11A team was justified when they travelled there on Tuesday for their second game in the Surrey Verney Cup competition.

On arrival, Divam won the toss and put Feltonfleet into bat. Cullen bowled economically, Felix recorded 3 wickets, Viaan two wickets, and Alfie had a good day in the field, recording a run out and a fine catch. Feltonfleet finished their 20 overs at 102 for 7.

Placed into bat, Hampton took a while to find their pace. Ronak was rested after a ball struck his helmet. But on return he assertively took on the bowlers, recording 17 off 17 balls. Rishaan started to loosen up, playing some fine shots, and the boys started to get away from Feltonfleet. With over two overs to go, Rishaan scored a four to win the game and earn his half century! A fine finish. This Monday brings Kings Wimbledon in the quarter finals, to be played at Hampton school.

In other cricketing news, the U9s swept to victory against Kings House in all games from A to E. The U8s came close to replicating this against Surbiton with wins from B – C.

A quieter week next week, but we look forward to sports day 1:30-3:30pm on the 23rd June.
