The boys returned from the half-term break full of energy and made the most of the warm autumnal conditions to play some excellent football against Surbiton Prep. The U8s left Hampton Prep singing with excitement, and what followed was a 3–3 thriller for the As. The Bs were victorious in a high-scoring 5–3 game, while the Cs were unlucky to lose 1–0. The Ds rounded off the set with a 2–1 win.
On Wednesday, it was the turn of the U10s and U11s in their final fixtures against Surbiton for Hampton Prep. Both the As and Bs recorded wins — a first against Surbiton — which speaks volumes about the progress and effort the boys have shown this term. The Cs won 3–1, and it could have been more if not for an outstanding goalkeeping display from Sendan.
The U10s travelled to Surbiton for their matches. The A team faced a physical contest and, despite creating several good chances, could not respond to three well-taken Surbiton goals. The Bs moved the ball around nicely to score four goals and take the win, with Julian putting in a strong performance in goal. The C team’s game was an end-to-end thriller, full of energy and effort, and they were unlucky to lose 2–1. The Ds showed plenty of determination to secure a well-earned victory.
Looking ahead, the U9As will play their Claremont Surrey Cup semi-final against Shrewsbury House next Monday — good luck to them!
