In the U11 Willington fixtures, the A team were unlucky to lose 1-0. They played some excellent football and had multiple shots on goal but the ball simply wouldn’t cross the line. The Bs cruised to a comfortable victory with a great team performance, as did the D team. The C team played some really good passing football and worked very well as a team so it was unfortunate they lost. However, they should take pride in how they played.

Today the U9s played their fixtures and had some great results. The As and Bs won very comfortably and the C and Ds matched up well against their opposition, producing some entertaining football and a victory for them both.

It’s a big weekend for English sport. It’s England vs. Pakistan in the T20 World Cup Final, the England women face New Zealand in the Rugby World Cup final, and in the men’s, women’s and wheelchair semi-finals of the Rugby League World Cup competitions, England has teams competing. There are also the rugby union Autumn Tests to catch. It’s great to evidence the depth and breadth of sporting talent in the country. Hopefully you can catch some of these inspiring matches with your son, in preparation for the upcoming two terms of sport!
