Looking back over the year, it has been great to consider all the sport the boys have taken part in. There have been over 233 sports fixtures, tournaments in football rugby and cricket, cross-country, and swimming events. Averaged out across the school, the boys have been undefeated in 72% of their fixtures, a testament to the effort, progress and achievement the boys have made, not only in their sporting skills, but in their teamwork, communication and thinking skills, which are so important in team sports and life.
In inter-house sport, the boys have taken part in House swimming, football, rugby, athletics, cross country, tug-of-war, cricket, and athletics. Lancaster House have had the majority of wins. Will it be enough to win back the House Cup? We will find out next week!
I should like now to say my personal goodbye to the boys moving on from Hampton Prep. To our Year 6s, you have been a pleasure to work with. I wish you the best of luck wherever you are going. I hope you continue to work hard at your sport in senior school and you continue to enjoy its rewards. Parents: do keep us updated of any successes, we always love to hear about them.
Finally, I wish all the boys a happy and active summer break and I look forward to seeing you all fresh and raring to go for football in September.
