Friday marked a milestone: the last Hampton Prep football match for Year 6. With Bishopsgate’s reputation for one of the best match teas on the circuit, there was plenty of excitement as the boys travelled for their final fixture. The quality of football matched the occasion: the A team battled to a 1–0 win, the Bs produced a thrilling 2–2 draw, and the Cs played with verve and energy to secure a 2–1 victory. The Ds showed great spirit, clawing back from a three-goal deficit before Bishopsgate pulled away again in the second half. All in all, a fantastic day and a fitting end to their football journey at Hampton Prep.
Next week:
No matches, just a steady reintroduction to rugby. Boys will be getting their heads around passing backwards and, for those playing contact, tackling. Please ensure your son has a gumshield and brings a full tracksuit to school. It looks set to stay chilly, so rugby gloves are fine if boys wish to wear them. I look forward to reporting on how it goes next week!
