The U8s faced Claremont Fan Court School last Friday in a series of loose and exciting games. Both the As and Bs were involved in close contests, with plenty of tries and well-earned victories, while the Cs and Ds battled hard to secure a draw — a great effort across the board.

The U10s also took on Claremont. The A team demonstrated some excellent teamwork in both attack and defence, applying sustained pressure to score a number of well-worked tries and run out convincing winners. The Bs followed suit with a similarly strong performance. The Cs played touch rugby and showed real progress in their handling and decision-making, with Rubah demonstrating his pace to help secure a high-scoring draw.

We were also pleased to welcome Harrodian School to the fixture list for the first time, hosting the U9s on Tuesday. It was a nervy start in all games, but the boys soon found their feet. For the As, Jude ran straight and assertively to gain valuable metres. In the Bs, Nicolas’ shimmying runs and a decisive tackle from Charlie helped earn the win, while in the Cs, Teddy was a real dynamo in both defence and attack.

Looking ahead, there will a chance for training next week and will allow us to focus on embedding more cohesive teamwork in defence, and the importance of going forward in attack to generate momentum.

Next week’s fixture:
