On Tuesday, the U9 A and B teams headed to the Caldicott Festival, where they demonstrated their ability to reflect, adapt and improve as the afternoon progressed. Playing seven games, the As found the opening fixtures challenging, narrowly losing their first three before rallying superbly to win their final four, with excellent tries from Tobi, Finlay and Haris. The Bs also had a strong afternoon, winning four, drawing one and losing just one. Chuck and Oscar showed pace and agility to score multiple tries, while Ariyan made several excellent tackles.
Wednesday saw the U10s remain closer to home for the Hampton Prep U10 7‑a‑side Festival in Carlisle Park. Facing strong local opposition, the boys managed themselves brilliantly, approaching each game with clear ideas of how they wanted to play. There was some outstanding rugby on display, with Seb making superb attacking runs and Max distributing with his usual flair. They were the most successful team of the afternoon, and the whole squad should be proud of their composure, teamwork and tactical understanding.
