The U10s and U11s played Bishopsgate this week in their last matches of the term. With plenty of mud on the pitches, conditions weren’t conducive to passing football. This did not stop the Year 5s who won comprehensively at A, B and C team level. The D team narrowly lost playing the Cs and George U channelled Ryan Giggs to score a cracking solo effort.
Play was more challenging for Year 6 with close games for the As and Bs but they patiently took their chances to win. The Cs took their chances to win 5-0 and the Ds lost 3-0 playing the Bishopsgate Cs.
It has been a pleasure to see the progress the U11s have made through the years here at the prep and we hope they leave with plenty of happy footballing moments and take great pride in their efforts. We look forward to seeing them apply themselves similarly in the rugby term.
Today we took four Year 6s: Sami D, Alex B, Nico L and Aizhou S, and two Year 5s: Bertie R and Thomas F, to the Richmond Borough Cross Country Competition. The boys raced against 100s of other pupils from schools across the borough, over a 2.2km, through a cutting northerly wind. The boys all put in a great effort with the Year 5s standing out with their fantastic effort racing against boys in the year above. Thomas finished in 12th and Bertie ran in to take 10th. Well done to them and we are already looking forward to seeing how they do next year!
