We were fortunate to welcome speakers representing careers in law, the Metropolitan Police and entrepreneurship. Each shared both the highlights and challenges of their professional lives, with a consistent message around the importance of resilience. Alongside this, it was particularly encouraging to see how naturally our Real World Skills featured in the discussions – especially communication, connection, collaboration, and creativity.
The boys were highly engaged throughout and asked thoughtful and wide-ranging questions, from “Did being female affect your career trajectory?” to “What do you think is the most exciting type of lawyer to be?” Their curiosity and confidence made for a lively and meaningful session.
This event builds on our recent engagement with a cyber security professional, and we are hopeful to welcome a data analyst to speak with the boys in the near future, following an earlier postponement due to work commitments.
Overall, it was a valuable and inspiring afternoon, and we extend our sincere thanks to our volunteers for making it possible.
