This week, we have enjoyed writing about our favourite day of during the Easter break and learning the ‘er’ and ‘ar’ digraphs. We have also been having a go with our independent writing and writing in detail about a picture.

In mathematics, we have been exploring and comparing length and height. We have been ordering from shortest to tallest. We have had fun using non-standard units using unifix bricks to measure different super heroes.  We also tried measuring caterpillars using a ruler in centimetres. Reception   have also been counting to 100 with Jack Hartmann exercises.

In line with our two-week topic ‘Mindfulness and the sky’, we have looked at different types of clouds and have discussed ways we can travel in the sky.  Who knew there were so many different ways?  In art, we made hot air balloons and aeroplanes for a wall display.

We enjoyed listening to the biography of Amelia Earhart from the Little People Big Dreams series. When she was a little girl, her dream was to fly and we were inspired by her life story of becoming the first female pilot. She set a new female world record for flying up to 14,000 feet and also flew across two oceans – the Atlantic and the Pacific.

Please remember to return your library folder, we will be choosing a new library book on Tuesday.

Have a lovely weekend!
