In the classroom this week, we have thoroughly enjoyed becoming palaeontologists, working in our ‘Fossil Investigation Station’. Wearing gloves and using magnifying glasses, we explored ‘dinosaur dung’ to discover what the dinosaurs had eaten—whether they were herbivores, carnivores, or omnivores. The children also followed a recipe to make salt dough bones. Once the bones were dry, they were buried in soil, and the children loved carefully digging and brushing to uncover the bones and fossils hidden in the dirt.
In mathematics this week, we explored capacity, enjoying activities where we filled containers and measured using a variety of descriptive vocabulary for capacity and volume. We also examined money closely, having fun seeing and feeling real bank cards, coins and notes.
We ended the week with some large dinosaur movements and roars during our ‘Tiny the T-Rex’ Cosmic Kids Yoga session!
Next week, we will be learning about and celebrating the Lunar New Year.
