We were amazed to learn that not only can we borrow lots of picture books at once, but we can also borrow non‑fiction books, audiobooks, and early readers. We explored the children’s section of the library and chose books to bring back and share with our friends in class. The children’s behaviour throughout the trip was excellent. We felt very proud walking through Hampton Village and visiting the library in our smart uniforms. Well done, Reception!

In mathematics this week, we have been learning to count in 2s and have been practising ordering numbers. The children had great fun taking their learning outdoors, where they worked together to sort numbers and create their very own Reception Class superhero number lines in the playground!

In art and craft, we explored weaving techniques by making colourful paper Elmer the Elephants. The children showed wonderful focus and creativity as they developed their fine motor skills.

Next week, we will be thinking about our new topic: Weather & Gardening. We are especially looking forward to a very exciting week, including:

  • Wednesday: Dressing up as our favourite book characters for World Book Day!
  • Friday: Our class trip to RHS Wisley, where we will explore plants and gardens to support our new topic.

It’s set to be a fantastic week of learning and adventure!
