Thursday was full of excitement as the children visited their future classroom and teachers. They loved going upstairs to Year 1 and getting to know their next teachers.  Both Miss Madden and Mrs Swain felt that they were more than ready for their transition to Year 1 – very well done to all!

We enjoyed the run up to sports day, practising our three races with gusto! Well done to all of our very own ‘sports stars’ in Reception class, we were so very proud of all your fantastic sportsmanship in all your races – great job!

Next week we are looking forward to starting our Topic ‘The Farm’.

Please don’t forget that Reception will be visiting Bockett’s Farm, Dorking on Friday 12th June and will travel there by coach during school hours. I have checked the weather, and it looks like we have a cloudy showery day ahead of us. Please pack a named raincoat just in case! (no wellies please!) They should be dressed in school tracksuit with shorts or joggers and trainers.  Please be prepared for all weathers, if it is a sunny day, the children must have an application of sun cream before they leave home and a sun hat.

We would be grateful if you could provide your child with a suitable packed lunch in a named disposable bag. No sandwich boxes, flasks or yoghurts/desserts that might leak please! We will provide the children with a biscuit snack for the morning.

Please note this should not include any chocolate, nuts or fizzy drinks, as we need to be aware of those with allergies.  Please do not send any food items in your child’s packed lunch that may present a choking hazard, such as grapes or small tomatoes. Please also bring a named disposable water bottle.
