We have immersed ourselves in sticks in our play, creating our own designer stick people in very fancy attire! We have also enjoyed Mrs O’Brien’s fabulous stick man habitat complete with family tree in the tuff tray and modelling our very funny stick men in our coffee playdough! We thoroughly enjoyed the story and wrote our own versions independently. Mrs O’Brien and I were especially impressed at how many children remembered so much of the story in detail.

The children have been putting their fine motor skills to the test with some sewing. It was lovely to see their patience whilst undertaking this tricky skill!

In mathematics, we have re-visited telling the time o’clock and half past. A few children also learnt to tell the time quarter-past and quarter-to! Don’t forget to test our telling the time knowledge. We have also been working and completing subtraction number sentences and counting back on the number line.

On Wednesday, we enjoyed one of our new library books kindly donated by a former Pre-Prep pupil. Mr Smith read us the book, ‘There’s a snake in my school’ by David Walliams. It told of a missing head teacher when a pupil brought a snake to school! The children thought this story was hilarious especially when they realised where the missing head teacher had really gone!
