We had a puzzling time on Tuesday as Reception enjoyed completing very tricky jigsaws with a partner. It was fantastic to see the children working together problem solving. Jigsaws are particularly good for your brain, improving cognition and spatial reasoning!
In mathematics, we have been looking at symmetry and in particular symmetry in nature. We had fun designing symmetrical butterflies. We also enjoyed thinking about mathematics in art; we painted dots with poster paints and doubled them by printing! We took a closer look at money, re-capping our knowledge of money and coins, adding different coins together to make totals. We enjoyed playing a shopping game on the whiteboard working out if we had enough money to buy items in the toy shop!
Next week, we will be thinking about our topics Colour and Summer. We look forward to seeing you at our Open Classroom on Wednesday at 3pm!
