We enjoyed listening to the story ‘The Little Raindrop’ by Joanna Grey. This told of a little raindrop’s journey through the water cycle. The children then wrote some fantastic little raindrop stories of their own – some raindrops fell into puddles, others were part of beautiful rainbows, whilst some were washed up on a beach.
We have been busy sowing herb egg box gardens that Reception class have taken home today. Please put then on a sunny windowsill and watch them grow. We would love to see any photos of the herbs germinating and growing.
In the classroom, we have also sown tomato, cucumber, lettuce, rocket and wild flower seeds for our Reception vegetable garden in the playground. We are currently in the process of ‘chitting’ our potatoes ready to plant. We also planted some brightly coloured climbing sweet peas which we are hoping to grow up canes in our playground.
We had lots of fun with our tuff tray cloud experiment, using shaving foam and coloured water to create rainbows.
Next week, we will be looking for ‘Signs of Spring’ and hoping for some glorious sunshine to help our seeds germinate!
