In mathematics, we have been continuing on the topic ‘first, then, now’ working with addition and subtraction number sentences and finding missing numbers.

We have been ‘beary’ creative this week too. In pairs, we have enjoyed making ‘a going on a bear hunt’ collage map; it was lovely to see how imaginative the journeys following the map would be! We have enjoyed playing with our new bear cave, playing with the habitat of bears in the tuff tray and in our classroom outside garden.

On Friday we completed our ‘beary’ fun week with our class assembly! The children re-told the story ‘We’re going on a bear hunt’ with instruments and body percussion. It was lovely to hear so many of the children reading their pieces so clearly and confidently. We also read a bear poem and sang and signed alongside to the song, ‘I am the music man’. Well done, Reception – you were all super stars!

Next week in our topic work we will be learning about worms!
