We decided to make the perfect home for our new worm friends and made a wormery from a large plastic bottle. We used this as stimulus for some independent writing, making a list of the things we needed to make the perfect ‘worm habitat’ and then writing the instructions. We read the story, ‘Superworm’ by Julia Donaldson and wrote creatively about our favourite parts of the story.

In mathematics this week we have been using subtraction, consolidating key skills subitising and counting. We have also been composing and decomposing shapes; we cut a square to make two right angled triangles. We used these two triangles to make a larger triangle, a parallelogram and a diamond.

Wishing you all a very happy half term holiday, we look forward to sharing and reading your holiday snapshots after half term. Our topic after half term is ‘Summer and the Sun!’
