Pupils from Years 3 to 6 made waves at this year’s Swimming Gala, held at the Hampton Open Air Pool.
The afternoon was packed with action as swimmers dived into a variety of events, including front crawl, backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle races, alongside the crowd-favourite three-man raft race. There were plenty of splash-tacular finishes, fierce competition and plenty of poolside cheering.
Pupils kept their cool under pressure, showing fantastic determination and sportsmanship. Whether they were powering through the water or cheering on their teammates, everyone played their part in making the event a swimming success.
After a series of closely contested races, York House rose to the surface as this year’s overall champions, securing the House trophy. There was even more cause for celebration as Chuck and Luke made a real splash in the record books, breaking school records in the freestyle and front crawl events respectively – a fin-tastic achievement!
Congratulations to York House for staying ahead of the current and claiming victory, and well done to all of our swimmers for throwing themselves in at the deep end and representing their houses so brilliantly.
