Year 2 enjoyed a fantastic trip to The Living Rainforest, where they stepped into a world of tropical plants, exotic animals and exciting discoveries.
The adventure began with pupils using the special passports they had created earlier in the week, complete with their own photographs and signatures. Before entering the rainforest, they learned how to treat the animals and environment with care and respect.
As they explored, pupils discovered the different layers of the rainforest and encountered a variety of fascinating wildlife. There was great excitement when they spotted colourful poison dart frogs, tiny baby monkeys swinging through the trees and a dragon lizard basking nearby. The free-roaming birds were a particular favourite, making everyone feel as though they were truly part of the rainforest.
During the “Edible Forest” tour, pupils learned that rainforests provide up to 80% of the world’s diet. They used their senses to touch, smell and observe a range of tropical fruits and plants, gaining a deeper understanding of the important role rainforests play in our everyday lives.
