In maths, we have been continuing to explore multiplication and division by doubling numbers up to 20, making equal groups using familiar objects and sharing objects into equal groups – we were very excited to meet the Sloth family for a picnic who would only eat “broccoli” that had been shared fairly! The children had great fun sharing the cubes to feed the sloths and used the language 16 biscuits shared equally between 4 is 4. We look forward to learning about fractions next week in our mathematics lessons.
In science, we are all on countdown to carry out our experiment in order to find the best material to insulate an astronaut’s glove. This week we planned our experiment – talking about the types of materials we will test, the importance of making it a fair test, and recording our predictions. We will report back our findings next week.
Have a wonderful bank holiday weekend!
