In maths, this week, the children have been focusing on money learning objectives and have shown what whizzes they are at coin recognition, from 1p to £2, as well as some notes – any opportunities to handle money at home this weekend will support and embed their learning in class. The Year 1 shop was declared open; helping the children to identify the correct coins to use in a shopping transaction and how to give the correct change. The children were thrilled to be given some toy money and were then allowed to choose a couple of things to purchase, what a treat!
We concluded our learning all about “Changing Me” in our Life Skills lessons. We couldn’t believe how much we have changed since we were babies, and we celebrated our unique selves and all the wonderful things that we can now do.
