In maths, we have been focusing on understanding quarters of amounts. The children have been learning how to find a quarter by using the “halve it and halve it again” strategy, which has helped them break down problems into smaller, more manageable steps. They have enjoyed using objects, drawings, and number sentences to show their working and have demonstrated great problem-solving skills. It’s been a joy to see their growing confidence in applying this strategy to a range of practical activities and challenges.
BLAST OFF! The class were thrilled that this week it was time to make their very own rockets! The children designed their rockets last week; making sure to include fins, a body tube and a nose cone in order to make the rocket aerodynamic. We were also inspired by our learning at the Winchester Science Centre. This week, we used a variety of materials and joining skills to bring our designs to life!
Wishing you all a restful half term break.
