In Maths, we continued exploring subtraction. The children practised using different strategies, such as counting back on a number line, using their fingers, and working with tens frames to figure out “how many are left.” To reinforce this learning, it would be wonderful for the children to have lots of practical opportunities at home. For example:
“If Mummy has 6 grapes and gives you 2, how many does she have left?”
The children could then record this as a number sentence: 6 – 2 = 4.

In Computing, we combined all the skills we’ve learned this term to create a picture of our house, complete with text! The children can now use tools such as fill, undo, and paint, change brush sizes, add text, and even save their work to build on later.

Wishing you all a joyful and peaceful Christmas. We look forward to welcoming the children back in the Spring term, ready for more exciting learning adventures!
