In mathematics, we have been building our knowledge of doubles to 20 and using near doubles as a tool to help with our addition skills. We know that if we see the sum 5 + 4, we can use double 4 and then add 1 to help us calculate the answer. We have also been deepening our understanding of number bonds to 20.
In science, we have been continuing to learn about materials, focusing our learning on their properties and why this makes certain materials good for certain jobs. We put our knowledge into practice by designing our own home using the various materials we have learnt about. The children were incredibly creative and I am sure we have some future architects in class!
