In mathematics, we have been exploring length and height. The children compared different lengths and heights, and learned how to measure using non-standard units such as cubes and paper-clips. We look forward to learning how to use a ruler to measure next week!
We were fortunate enough to launch our new topic all about weather and weather patterns this week; within the space of an hour we experienced hail / sleet / snow storms followed by blue skies and sunshine. It was one exciting lesson! In our quest to capture weather in art, we have focused on ‘rain’ and we are working on rainy-day pictures complete with wellington boots.
Year 1 are also very excited about World Book Day next week…
