In maths we kicked off our geometry unit of learning by revising 2D and 3D shapes, using lots of resources to make and rearrange multiple regular and irregular shapes. We can’t wait to learn more about the different features of shapes as well as lines of symmetry.
In computing, the children have been exploring physical computing using Raspberry Pi and Bee-Bots! Through fun, hands-on activities, pupils have been developing key computational thinking skills such as sequencing, debugging, and programming. They’ve learned to give Bee-Bots simple commands, and plan and test algorithms; next, they will be learning to apply these skills in creative cross-curricular tasks like storytelling and solving mathematical challenges.
We are really enjoying our Life Skills lessons this half term, with the focus being “celebrating difference”. The children are starting to understand that sometimes people make assumptions about boys and girls (stereotypes), and that it is OK to be different from other people and to be friends with them. Lots of interesting conversations with Jigsaw Jo and classmates have developed, and the children understand that we shouldn’t judge people if they are different from us.
Have a relaxing weekend.
