Having finally completed their incredible newspaper reports, all about the True Story of the Three Little Pigs, the children have turned their attention to all things Roald Dahl! Many of his books have been greatly enjoyed during our fruit and story time, and so we have set to work analysing some of his most brilliant characters. Over the next few weeks, we shall be studying a range of his spectacular character descriptions. The children will learn how to build a vivid picture of a character using descriptive language as well as exploring how a cleverly chosen name can help bring a character to life. Watch this space for our Dahlicious Descriptions!

This week’s Life Skills’ challenge was ‘teamwork’, and the children surpassed all expectations by working methodically and collaboratively to create a dream bird for their Garden of Dreams. The children were able to reflect on how they had each faired, who worked well in their individual role and what they needed to do next to improve the end product.

We rounded off the week by learning how to stay safe online, building on what we discussed for Internet Safety Day. In science, we also explored how to use electrical devices safely. With all this new knowledge, we are feeling safe and ready for half-term!

Have a fantastic break!
