In mathematics, the children consolidated their understanding of mass by practising calculation skills to solve word problems. We have been very impressed with how confidently they can choose the correct operation and the most efficient method to find a solution. They then moved on to learning about volume and capacity, comparing the two concepts and practising how to measure volume in millilitres.
In science, the children have been learning about animals and their offspring. They matched different animals to their young and sharpened their research skills by using the internet to find the correct names for each animal’s offspring. They also discovered that some animals are born live, while others hatch from eggs.
Finally, excitement is building for the House Poetry Competition, taking place next week. We look forward to hearing the finalists’ poetry recitals on Tuesday and wish them the very best with their performances.
