We have started our new topics for this half term and excitement is brewing. In science, we are learning about electricity and this week we learnt about different types of electricity and where electricity in our home comes from. In humanities, we are learning about significant individuals. Last Friday, we found out all about Rosa Parks and why she is significant – do ask your child to tell you about her! This afternoon, we learnt about Alan Turing and his tremendous work during World War II. The children are excited to find out who next week’s significant individual will be!
In English, we have been learning and applying the alphabetical order. Any singing of the alphabet song you can do at home would be extremely beneficial! We have also been learning how to use apostrophes to show possession. For example, “The boy’s coat was red.” We hope to put this new skill to use next week when completing some extended writing.
