Next week, we will continue using this book as our key text and we will be focusing on using different types of sentences to add variety to our written work.
In maths, we have continued to learn about fractions. Finding fractions of amounts and recognising the equivalence between ½ and 2/4 have been some of our tasks. Next week, we will be counting in fractions and solving worded problems that involve fractions.
Our new science topic for this half term is ‘Living Things and their Habitats’ and on Tuesday the children enjoyed learning how to identify if something is alive by using the acronym MRS GREN (movement, respiration, sensitivity, growth, reproduction, excretion, nutrition). They worked together in small groups to sort images into 3 groups – alive, dead, never alive.
