In English, the children have been learning how to read and write words containing the Key Stage One suffixes (-ment, -ness, -ly, -ful, -less) and use these in their writing and conversations. During the latter part of the week, the children have been working in small groups to research rainforest animals. The teachers were very impressed with those children spotted listening to one another and working collaboratively. This morning the children presented their findings to their classmates using pictures and facts they sourced themselves – do ask your child to share some facts with you that they have learnt!

Measuring height, length and width has been the focus of our maths lessons this week and we will continue with this topic next week. Perhaps you could involve your child in some measuring at home so that they can continue to practise this skill. Some children have also successfully converted between mm, cm and m – very impressive work!
