In maths we have been continuing our focus on addition and subtraction, learning strategies how to add when crossing the ten. We were all so impressed when the children were nimbly able to combine their number bond to ten knowledge and partitioning skills to complete their calculations. In science we learnt about air resistance and are all prepared to carry out our parachute investigation after the half term break.
We have launched our geographical enquiry, to compare the village of Hampton with the village of Rusuzumiro in Rwanda. The children were able to sort images from the two localities, and are now ready to learn about their geographical features, finding similarities and differences along the way.
Finally, as we get ready for our well-earned Autumn break, we revealed our plans for the 2022 Christmas production, where Year 2 take a leading role. Scripts have been sent home so that we can familiarise ourselves with the story and maybe start to learn some lines. But fear not, there’s plenty of time! Enjoy some quality rest and recuperation and we look forward to seeing you back, fresh and raring to go in two weeks’ time.
