In English, the children have loved reading a new key text, “Mama Panya’s Pancakes” by Mary and Rich Chamberlin. It is a delightful African story about the rewards of sharing, offering a message that is universal. Along the way, the children have been learning about verbs, including imperative verbs, so that we are ready to write our very own set of instructions to make pancakes next week!
We have kicked off our new science topic about materials, recapping and recognising materials and their properties. In our humanities lesson the children showed off the incredible amount of knowledge they have amassed so far regarding the African continent. Many of the children can list all of the African countries off by heart! This week we looked carefully at the human and physical features of Rwanda, compared to those here in Hampton, England.
Rehearsals for the Christmas production are going well, so please do keep up the learning of lines for the play. Wishing you all a relaxing and fun weekend!
