Year 4 set off on their residential trip to Grittleton Adventures with excitement levels soaring. Set within beautiful countryside near Chippenham and enjoying the fine weather, the centre provided three memorable days of adventure, challenge and fun. For many of the boys, this was another important step in their journey towards greater independence, and they embraced every moment with enthusiasm and positivity.

Day 1

After arriving and settling into their accommodation, the boys wasted no time getting started. The first afternoon saw them dive straight into a range of exciting activities, including Jacob’s Ladder, Den Building and the Escape Room. These tasks required teamwork, communication and resilience, and it was wonderful to see the boys encouraging one another from the very beginning. The day concluded with a lively campfire session, full of songs, laughter and a hot chocolate treat!

Day 2

Another action-packed day, offering a wide variety of activities that kept energy levels high throughout. From testing accuracy in archery to energetic competition in Water Wars and bouncing skyward on Aeroball, the boys continued to be enthuastic and determined in each activity. One boy mentioned that Aeroball was:

Such a fun activity and i have never done before

Team-building activities continued to strengthen collaboration and problem-solving skills, while the much-anticipated Celebration Evening provided a fun opportunity to dance the night away with a disco and games!

Day 3

On the final morning, the boys completed one last activity before packing up and preparing for the journey home.

The residential was a wonderful success. It was a joy to see the boys grow in independence, confidence and friendship, challenging themselves and embracing new experiences with enthusiasm. Mr Addis summed up this year’s experience by saying:

It always surprises me the amount of personal development we see from our brilliant residential trips, and it’s great to see new friendships form.

Everyone returned to school full of stories, smiles (and some tired eyes!) and pride in everything they had achieved.
