A great number of parents very much enjoyed the Year 3 and 4 boys’ acting and singing skills last Friday night in the Hammond Theatre at Hampton, as they performed their play ‘What a Knight’. The royal theme was entirely appropriate, and a timely coincidence, given the nature of the Coronation weekend’s activities to come.
Making sure the boys have ample opportunity to perform here is important. Colleagues occasionally step up and perform for us too, and Mrs Sheaff was just such a colleague this week. In her assembly on the ‘Wonder of Music’, it was excellent to hear her singing, as part of her exploration of the origins of reggae. She had called upon some Year 6 boys to help her out in her assembly and we all learnt a lot about how wonderful reggae music is, before some joyful whole school singing of a Bob Marley classic!
