Mrs Grove provided us all here with a timely reminder of how terribly important it is to look after ourselves as learners. Equally as important as this message, Mrs Grove carefully and sensitively reminded us of the freedom that we all have in our school to just be ourselves without being judged. This notion, which sits highly in the hearts and minds of all colleagues here, proved a powerful message to the boys during her assembly.
As Mr Smith has alluded to in previous publications, we have wholeheartedly embraced this sense of freedom whilst the Headmaster attends the annual IAPS & HMC Conference! With this in mind, boys were reminded about Open Homework next week and suggestions made about how they may explore the theme of freedom. We believe, at least, these sorts of learning experiences are very important for small boys to engage with as they carefully consider new ways of thinking. Do please ask your son how he has found his experience as the week progresses.
Our friends from Elizabeth College Junior School joined us today for a jolly nice lunch and some afternoon sport before Saturday mornings U11 Hampton Prep Football Tournament. We are sure our friends from the Channel Islands will have a terrific time making memories with our boys and host families whilst enjoying that sense of freedom, which means so much to us all.
However your boys choose to spend their free time this weekend, we strongly recommend, if we may, for them to heed Mrs Grove’s wise words of wisdom and look after themselves and be proud of the warm, friendly and cheerful fellows they are!
