We encourage the pupils to appreciate the cultural context of world religions, and to understand the common threads that are universal to these topics.
From exploring the ideas of the myths and legends that early civilisations created to make sense of the world, pupils build an understanding of the common human experience that underlies all of the major world religions. In their study of the specific religious and cultural practices of these, they are encouraged to draw parallels that emphasise their shared humanity.
In responding to these topics, we emphasise the importance of respect and tolerance for different faiths, encouraging personal reflections on these ideas, and drawing on their own experiences.
