We continue with our plans here to commemorate Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee in June. Parents will have received a letter from Mr Ford via SchoolPost today outlining some top-level plans we already have in place. Mr Barber will be writing to Prep parents in more detail on Monday next week regarding our ‘7 Days of Giving’ initiative, its link to the Queen’s 70 Year reign and the ways in which the boys’ service can be linked to their L.I.O.N. Award.
Mrs Murphy has already launched the ‘Decorate a Crown’ competition with the pupils in the Pre-Prep and I shall be launching that same competition with the boys in the Prep on Monday morning in my assembly. There are one or two other surprises we have up our sleeves, which we shall reveal in due course, and which we hope everyone will enjoy on Friday 27 May when we assemble all pupils from the Kindergarten to Year 6 to eat our ‘Platinum Jubilee Picnic Lunch’ together. If what is sometimes revealed about the Queen’s impish sense of humour is to be believed, I think she would approve of what we have in store!
