Next week shall be especially busy and therefore very exciting indeed! The excitement began today in fact, with our entire Year 5 cohort leaving the sunny environs of leafy Hampton to venture north on their rugby tour. They shall be playing rugby against teams from Leicester Grammar Junior School and Fairfield Prep, which is one of the Preps in the Loughborough Schools Foundation, as well as attending a Premiership rugby game on Saturday afternoon before they come home on Sunday. English takes centre stage next week in many ways, with pupils participating in our House Poetry Competition; the final is in the Prep on Friday. Mrs Sheaff has also organised an extraordinary array of terrific activities for World Book Day on Thursday next week, including a visit from Lexi Rees (a well-known, published author of children’s fiction), a costume parade and a day of excellent language-based lessons. Furthermore, on Tuesday we are hosting 50 pupils from 10 different primary schools across the Borough for a day of workshops and seminars for all those pupils who are Junior Travel Ambassadors (JTAs) in their schools. They shall be joining our JTAs to share ideas, swap success stories and learn more about how to jointly promote safe and sustainable travel to and from school.
